Mission is central to our understanding of church, and beyond our mission to our local community, we share with those who are the face of Christian Mission in many different contexts around the world.
BMS World Mission is part of the Baptist family

Locally Wellspring is active in Churches Together in Wirksworth and District, playing a full part in town-wide events at Christmas, Lent, Holy Week and Easter, Well Dressing, Remembrance and more.

We are an EcoChurch - Wellspring was awarded a silver award in 2020 and we continue to promote sustainable living in our church building, and personal lives.

Wellspring is a Fairtrade Church - we support this movement as a practical expression of our concern that so many people continue to live in poverty because the world’s trading system is stacked against them. We are particularly concerned about the effect of climate change on small-scale producers in countries who have done the least to contribute to climate change, yet are disproportionately affected by it.
Seeing the Fairtrade Mark on products assures us that the producers received a living wage and worked in decent conditions. All tea, coffee and sugar used in Wellspring hospitality is Fairtrade. We also commit ourselves to spreading the word about Fairtrade so that increasing numbers of people swap to Fairtrade products and more farmers can sell their produce through the Fairtrade system.
