Worship & Prayer
at Wellspring Church
Our main worship service is held at 10.30 a.m. every Sunday, and the style and content varies from week to week. As well as our minister’s regular leading and preaching, services are led by several gifted worship leaders and preachers from within Wellspring, together with occasional visitors from the Methodist Circuit and beyond.
Sunday Mornings
Sung worship is led by a worship group, augmented at times by digital music and video, with a broad range of traditional and contemporary hymns and songs enjoyed by our congregation. Encouraging messages seek to apply the teaching of the Bible to modern living, whilst connecting with real world issues.
Monthly Services
We share in the bread and wine of Holy Communion once per month during a morning service, and also have a monthly Evening Communion Service, usually at 6.00 p.m. on the first Sunday of each month.
Afternoon worship is held at Waltham House at 4pm (usually) on the last Sunday of the month.
All Age Worship
All Age Café worship takes place regularly, with multigenerational worship and interactive teaching and prayer.
Prayer
Prayer is central to our life together as Wellspring, with personal needs shared via our pastoral care network; and each Wednesday morning Prayer Zone meets, usually online at 9.00 a.m. with a Prayer Walk taking place monthly.
Bible Studies
From time to time, small groups meet for a series of Bible studies e.g. following set material for Lent or Methodist Bible Month.
We like to call these Life Groups, for they are about sharing life together and sharing one another’s burdens in prayer, as well as reading scripture together.
Life Celebrations & Commemorations
Baptism, Infant Dedication, Confirmation, Weddings & Funerals may be arranged in consultation with our minister. As a LEP we offer, and respect, Baptism of Infants and Believers’ Baptism, together with Confirmation in line with Methodist practice. All our journeys into faith are different, and each may choose whatever is appropriate.
At this moment, Wellspring is not registered for Same Sex Marriages, but this may be arranged through our Methodist Circuit.
